OWNED · PRIVATE COACHING: Success should feel as good as it looks.
You might have a life that looks good from the outside and still feel that something is missing.
Or perhaps there is more you want to do, but you keep questioning yourself, putting things off or waiting to feel ready.
Either way, I want to know how you are within it all.
Can you enjoy what you have achieved? Trust yourself to make a decision? Take a break without spending it thinking about everything you should be doing?
OWNED is private coaching where we give those questions some proper attention.

You’re capable. But how much is being capable costing you?
Perhaps you’re the person everyone relies on. You notice what needs doing, find a way through and make things happen.
But being good at carrying responsibility doesn’t mean you want to carry all of it.
You might be tired of being needed quite so much. Tired of checking work you have already delegated. Tired of reaching the end of the day with nothing left for yourself.
And when someone tells you to slow down, you think, “That sounds lovely. But who is going to do everything?”
We can start there. With the reality of your life and what would need to change for you to have more room within it.
Perhaps you’ve achieved what you wanted. So why doesn’t it feel enough?
You thought reaching this point would help you feel more settled.
Yet the satisfaction doesn’t last very long. There is another target, another responsibility or another reason to question whether you are doing enough.
You can appreciate what you have and still want your experience of it to feel different. More enjoyable. Less pressured. More like a life you have chosen.
I’m interested in what success means to you when nobody else is there to admire it.
What do you want your ordinary days to feel like? What would you like more time for? What are you no longer willing to keep sacrificing?
Or do you keep stopping yourself before you’ve really begun?
You have ideas. Experience. Things you would like to pursue.
But you can spend so long thinking about the decision that you never quite make it. You ask for another opinion. Do more research. Tell yourself you will begin when you feel more confident.
Sometimes you take the first step, then someone questions you and you start questioning everything.
We can look at what happens in those moments. What are you afraid the decision might reveal about you? Whose approval carries so much weight? What would help you take the next step with the uncertainty still there?
You don’t need to arrive with the answers. That is part of the work we do together.
Can you let things go well without holding everything so tightly?
If you have spent years being the dependable one, handing something over can feel uncomfortable.
You may trust someone in principle, yet still find yourself checking. You may have time to rest, yet feel uneasy using it.
Within OWNED, we explore what would help you feel more comfortable sharing responsibility and slowing down.
That might mean clearer expectations when you delegate. A boundary you need to communicate. Examining the belief that your value depends on how useful or available you are.
It also means paying attention to your actual workload. Sometimes you need fewer commitments, more support or a different way of organising the work.
You deserve to consider those options before you run yourself into the ground.
And where do you fit into your own life?
I don’t want caring for yourself to remain something you intend to do when things settle down.
We look at what helps you feel grounded and what you notice when you are becoming stretched. How you pause, rest, move, eat, connect with people and make room for things you enjoy.
What brings you back to the present when your mind is already three steps ahead?
What helps you feel like a person with a life, beyond the responsibilities you carry?
The answers need to work in your circumstances. We start with changes you can realistically make and return to what happens when you try.
This is what I mean by internal success.
Being able to trust your judgement and ask for help.
To care about your work and have boundaries around it.
To pursue something important without needing everyone to understand.
To enjoy an achievement without immediately deciding it should have been bigger.
To know when to stretch yourself and when you need to stop.
There will still be uncertainty, difficult days and decisions you wish you had handled differently. We work on how you respond to them, and how you treat yourself while you do.
Has the way you see yourself caught up with the life you want?
You may be moving towards something new while still living by old expectations.
Be agreeable. Don’t ask for too much. Prove you deserve to be here. Manage it yourself.
Those expectations can influence what you accept, what you charge, how visible you allow yourself to be and whether you let anyone support you.
We can question them.
Which still reflect your values? Which have become restrictive? What would you like to practise instead?
You have a say in how you live now, even when familiar patterns make that difficult to feel.

What would working together look like?
We begin with what is happening for you now.
It might be a decision you keep avoiding, a pattern you are tired of repeating or a feeling that the life you have built leaves too little room for you.
I’ll listen carefully. I’ll ask questions, offer observations and challenge you where I think it would be useful.
Together, we agree what you want to work on. Then we connect our conversations to everyday life: a different response, a clearer boundary, a decision or an action you want to take.
We return to what happened, including what felt uncomfortable or didn’t go to plan.
Before we begin, we agree the format, fees and scope of the coaching.
A little about me.
I’m Emergy Thompson. I have been coaching women since 2004, first alongside my corporate career in sales and leadership, before moving fully into business coaching in 2016.
I understand the appeal of ambition and the practical demands of building something. I also care about the person experiencing those demands.
My current training in psychotherapy informs my understanding of human behaviour. OWNED is private coaching, and we will discuss whether that is the right kind of support for what you need.
You can expect warmth, honest conversation and a willingness to look beyond the first explanation.
What would you like to feel different?
You don’t need to explain it perfectly.
Tell me what has been on your mind, what keeps happening or what you would like more room for.
We can begin there.
